Looking Back 2

My Reflection
While brainstorming for a topic previous to writing my human interest essay, I was lost. Not knowing what to write about definitely put behind schedule. When I finally thought I found a good topic to write about, I began writing my first draft. Similar to the draft from essay 1, there were many complications while writing this draft. The shape of this draft was horrible from the start. I didn’t have any idea how to wrap my essay together or how to shape up my introduction; I only had a topic with no background information. I finally stumbled along and completed a ghost draft for peer review. After peer review, I felt even worse about my writing. It was finally confirmed from my peers that my essay didn’t make sense. After reading through several articles in search for a topic, I stumbled upon a very interesting subject that directly related to my field of interest; this article dealt with insurance companies and pre-existing medical conditions. So, I decided to delete my entire draft essay and start from scratch. Doing this allowed me to create an essay that fit in the category of human interest. I feel that I wrote a well written essay that includes the components of what a human interest essay should. Compared to essay 1, I believe that I gained more knowledge about how to write a complete essay. I also believe that this essay was easier since I already have writing experience from writing essay 1. Discussion Question 5 definitely helped my form a better idea of what I needed to do with this essay. I absolutely loved including emotion into this essay. It was a splash to my original style of writing, which helps me develop and understand writing better.
