Looking Back 1

Challenges from Essay 1
While writing my essay, I overcame many different obstacles. After writing my first draft, I was totally lost. Trying to compile a lot of information into three or four pages bothered me. My draft was in horrible shape, even after spending long nights thinking of what to type. I tried all of my resources that I could possibly think of, including peer review, before I had a conference with Mrs. Morris Thursday. Peer review helped a little bit, but it still didn’t open my eyes as much as I hoped. Up until that point I was in complete devastation, so Mrs. Morris and I went over a few things that could make my paper better. That definitely brightened my situation and writing process pertaining to Essay 1, but there still was that one missing piece I needed to pull everything together. As I began writing my final draft, I decided to stop and take a break. During that time I logged on to blaze view to see what I made on the draft. The grade I received on my draft essay was unacceptable. I was told by Mrs. Morris that I was a better writer than I showed in that essay and deep down I knew she was right. That is what gave me the drive to do a better job at creating an overall MLA style essay. I didn’t want to let myself down anymore, so I logged on to my wiki postings and put my all into reviewing my postings. They helped tremendously. I used those posting to help me put everything together. Overall creating each component for essay 1 was kind of challenging, but it wasn’t impossible. I feel as though my essay turned out great with help from my resources at hand. Essay 1 helped me understand what is expected in a research paper.
